Neck Lift

Find Neck Lift Abroad with Make Medical Trip

A neck lift is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the neck and chin, by reducing wrinkles and the sagging of the skin. The surgery is performed on patients who are showing signs of aging through the development of wrinkles and loss of elasticity which causes the skin to sag.

The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat, and the remaining skin and muscles are pulled together and tightened.

The surgery is often performed simultaneously with facelift surgery.

Why do patient choose Neck Lift Surgery?

Neck lift procedure is performed to enhance the appearance of the neck. As people get older, signs of ageing begin to show around the neck area, resulting in wrinkles, sagging skin and folds developing. It can occur that the neck begins to show signs of ageing before the face, creating an undesirable look. The neck can also begin to sag when there has been a lot of weight loss whereby the neck takes longer to adjust to the loss of weight, resulting in the sagging of the skin. The sagging of the skin around the neck area can also occur as a result of genetics and can therefore occur in both young and old people. After the neck lift, the change of appearance of the neck results in a youthful look for the patient.

How is it performed

Neck lift surgery can be carried out with either liposuction to remove excess fat, or by repositioning and removing loose skin, depending on the desired results. Most often, surgical incisions are usually made behind the ear and under the chin and are extremely discrete, however this varies depending on the targeted area of the neck lift.

The incision may be made beneath the chin or behind the ears, if platysmaplasty surgery is being carried out. This type of neck lift surgery targets the muscles of the neck and is performed on patients who have weakened or loose neck muscles. This type of surgery can also be performed endoscopically which is less invasive, however it can vary with each patient.

A cervicoplasty is a type of neck lift that targets the excess skin. The surgery requires making small incisions, through which the excess skin can be removed and repositioned so that it is tighter and fixed into placed with sutures.

Once the neck lift is complete, the incisions will be closed with sutures.
