Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 5
It’s day five, and everything seems stable. I walked around a bit today, and even though I feel exhausted, I feel like I am getting the hang of it. I don’t particularly enjoy hunching when I walk, so I can’t wait for this part to be over.
I have to see the doctor tomorrow and hopefully, he will take out the tubing. Sleeping is still a challenge, but this is only a minor discomfort. I’m just glad those days of intense pain are over. My boyfriend and I are making sure that my corset doesn’t ride up, so we’re constantly pulling it down. Well, he is, because I can’t really use my arms!
He has to help me constantly with everything, and I’m hoping that ends soon. We tried going a little further on our walk today. We walked for two blocks and it was a five-minute walk, but the pain hit me pretty quickly, which made getting home difficult.
It made me realize that my recovery will take a while. Hence, I should take it very slowly – one day at a time – and not expect much. The nausea does hit me frequently, so I try to stay in bed.
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 6
I’m about to head off to my doctor’s appointment and I cannot wait to get these bandages off. This means I’ll get clean, and I’m looking forward to that because I haven’t had any form of cleanliness under these bandages in about four days. I’m ready for some soap. Things are looking good!
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 7
It’s officially been a week since I have had the surgery and I’m really proud of myself.
Yesterday, I got the drainage tubes taken out of my breasts, which was quite painful for the first one. The second one was more relieving than painful. I felt ecstatic to realize that my body is not rejecting the plastic tubing anymore. I went to the doctor today and he removed the rest of the tubing, which hurts but not as much as I expected it to. The good news is that my body is free from tubing so I can step in for a nice, hot shower!
Returning from the doctor, I made sure to rest for a little and then went in for a bath. My hair and skin feel squeaky clean after ages, and I feel like going for a walk to explore the city. I got a full view of myself for the first time yesterday.
Every other time, I’ve just been lying on the bed, and they’ve been cleaning everything and taking care of stuff around me, but this time, I actually got up, looked in the mirror and saw all my scars. It’s insane – there is no more skin, I have a little poof-y belly, but even that’s going to go away with the swelling. Honestly, even if it didn’t, I don’t care because my body looks amazing. I used to be able to grab handfuls of it, and now, there is nothing. It’s like I don’t even recognize myself – it’s crazy.
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 8
It’s day 8 and things are going really well. I only feel slight discomfort. For the larger part, I am able to do many things myself now. Honestly, this little independence feels great. The only thing I am unable to do is tie my corset back up and get in and out of bed from a lying position.
I plan to take another shower today and I think it’s just nice to be clean – it feels pretty good. Other than that, I can’t complain and I am definitely looking forward to going home. Mexico has treated me very warmly and this was certainly the best place for plastic surgery abroad.
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 9
It’s day 9, and I have much more mobility. I have learned how to tie my corset myself. Except that, I only need help with getting in and out of bed. I am able to go to my doctor’s appointments on my own and can even walk around. I can go out to eat, and it’s great because before I couldn’t venture too far from the hotel.
I have 2 more days until we leave Mexico, so I am hoping to take advantage of that and explore the city a little. My energy does come and go and simple tasks still exhaust me but overall, it feels nice. I think the only pain I am really experiencing is on my scar on my hipbone, but it’s not too bad.
I had my second-to-last visit with the doctor, and it went really well. They pulled out a bunch of stitching and I almost feel like my old self. Now that I’m feeling fantastic, I’m excited about tomorrow as it is my last appointment.
The doctor is going to take some pictures and tell me what to do for the next couple of weeks. We are going to start planning for the next surgery, so I am really excited. Plus, I can’t wait to see the city. After tomorrow’s appointment, my boyfriend and I are going to go explore it. On Saturday, we’re jetting off back home, where I am told it’s very cold. My fingers are crossed!
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 10
It’s my last day here in Mexico, and so is my last appointment. He’s going to take out the stitching, look at everything to make sure everything’s still okay and take some pictures. And, after that, I can hit the city with my plus one!
We will be preparing for our flight back home very soon. Frankly, at this point, I’m also a little homesick. I just can’t believe it’s already over. My doctor told me yesterday that we have to massage all the scars, the abdomen and some other areas quite firmly. I find it a little annoying that I can’t use my abs or my arms for anything, which leaves me useless at certain times. I got a good look at myself yesterday, but I had tape on the side of my body on some areas. This wasn’t the first time I saw myself with absolutely nothing, but I was surprised— I don’t look like me anymore.
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 11
It’s Day 11, and I am finally back home. Everything went smoothly yesterday. When I saw the doctor, he showed me pictures that he took of me on the day of the surgery, just before he marked me and wheeled me into the operating room.
He also took one yesterday, and the difference between the two photos is incredible. Seeing both the pictures, I feel like it’s not the same person. You really can’t appreciate it until you see the picture. Tomorrow morning I want to weigh myself because I am curious to see if I lost any weight or if I stayed the same.
He removed a lot of skin, but skin doesn’t really weigh that much– fat does. My skin pouch was empty, so that’s going to be pretty interesting. I know I am going to lose a good 10 pounds when the legs come off because there are still some fat deposits in there. But I’m really satisfied. The medical procedures in Mexico have truly exceeded my expectations. All in all, the entire experience has been exciting and emotionally fulfilling.
Post Plastic Surgery in Mexico – Day 12
When I got up this morning, I rushed to weigh myself, and my god! I’ve actually shed 3 pounds! It’s quite impressive. For now, I still have small implants, so I’m certain I may’ve lost a little more weight. However, I’m still very delighted right now!
Right now, I am only disappointed because I can’t hit the gym for at least 2 months. But it’s only a matter of time till I can exercise and get back to my routine again. Patience is the key. I feel great and I can’t believe that I am here twelve days after this intense surgery. I’m glad I signed up for the best plastic surgery in Mexico and I can’t wait to show you the before and after photos.
I feel so good and have never felt happier!
